The Cronulla Sutherland Sharks have listened to the comments, taken on board player reaction and feedback from members and fans, and the ‘hoop’ jersey is back in 2020.
The Sharks 2020 home jersey has been officially launched, with the look a return to the traditional hoop, the design worn by club legends, greats of the past and many of the Cronulla teams of days gone by.

“I love playing for this jersey, it means a lot to me,” Sharks half back Chad Townsend expressed when extending his time at the Club last week.
And with the clean, traditional look, Townsend and his teammates are set to love running out in the 2020 strip, produced by new apparel supplier Dynasty Sport.
“I like the look of the 2020 jersey, the players had some input and from what we’ve been told of fan feedback, it’s what our loyal supporters wanted to see as well,” Sharks NRL Coach John Morris said.
This year, The Sharks are pleased to unveil a new major partnership, with Ace Gutters DURAKOTE announced as the front of jersey sponsor for the next two years.
A company located in Mortdale and boasting a long association with the Sharks, the partnership is a positive step forward heading into the start of the 2019 season.
Sharks CEO Barry Russell was excited to be able to welcome Ace Gutters just two weeks before the kick off to the new season and at a crucial time for the Club.
“I'm thrilled that we’ve been able to secure a major front of jersey partner, at a time when the club needs it most. CEO Don Anderson is a long-time supporter of the Sharks and Don and his team at Ace Gutters have shown great faith and belief in us by coming on board,” Russell said.
“I'm proud we will be joining forces with a local company, 65 years in business, with family and community values that align with ours.”
The major partnership agreement continued an association with Ace Gutters CEO Don Anderson, his company and the Sharks, that now stretches almost three decades.
“We are extremely excited to be involved in the future of the club,” Mr Anderson began. “I have been keen to form some sort of relationship for some time and the timing for a new sponsor could not be better for us and hopefully for the club.
“Ace has serviced the Sutherland Shire for more than 65 years and we have over 180 employees at our Mortdale Head Office, a large proportion of which are avid Sharks supporters. I feel the fit is right for both of us.
“We are confident that our involvement will not only benefit Ace, we have a lot of very good products and are confident the exposure will increase our business, but it will be of benefit to the Club as well,” Mr Anderson added.
