Cheap QLD Maroons Rugby Jersey For 2020

QLD launch 2020 Maroons jersey as youth and past greats combine.

Rising talent Kalyn Ponga is captured soaking up Queensland's rich State of Origin history as the next generation draws inspiration from Former Origin Greats who feature in the launch of the new Maroons jersey.

A star-struck Ponga admires the skills and impact of former stars like the late Arthur Beetson, Wally Lewis, Mal Meninga and Johnathan Thurston in the campaign video, providing fans with a unique insight into the origins of the 2020 design.

The jersey, manufactured by ISC Sport, is a ‘modern take’ of the strip worn by Beetson in the first Origin match in 1980, with the historic Kangaroo Q logo a prominent feature.

This design is central to the QRL's “Forged by History” celebration, which pays tribute to the roots of Origin and the many iconic moments over the past 40 years.

Maroons coach Kevin Walters said the new jersey carried some striking characteristics.

“Every Queensland jersey is special, but this one is unique as it provides a direct link between 1980 and 2020 through features like the collar, emblem and sleeves; and of course the all-maroon,” Walters said.

Ponga said his first priority this year was to produce his best football for the Knights to place him in the mix for “higher honours”.

“It's a lot of passion, it's a lot of pride,” he said of his Origin experiences to date.

“I think we’ve got to respect the people before us, and they respect us as well.

“With the old boys coming into camp, that's what makes playing for Queensland so special. You're doing it for your state, the people before you, and your fans and family.”

In addition to the 2020 Marnoon jerseys, the Queensland Maroons also wore some impressive training uniforms at the Camp of Origin State.

In 2019 there was the Indigenous training jersey and the captain's run jersey worn in honour of 1919 skipper Duncan Thompson.

Queensland Rugby League, in proud partnership with Auswide Bank, is, for the first time ever, calling on fans to design one of the 2021 Maroons training jerseys for players to wear across the series.

QRL senior brand and marketing manager Jessica Walker said "artistic ability doesn't matter here... but creativity does".

"We want Queenslanders of all ages to be inspired and let their artwork do the talking in helping us select a jersey design," Walker said.

"So, break out the textas, the crayons or coloured pencils, show off your PhotoShop skills, or even grab your paint brush and palette... we want to see exactly how you see Queensland."
