Kurtley Beale has penned a one-year deal with the NSW Waratahs and Rugby Australia which will see the versatile back enter his eleventh season in Sky Blue, after the journey began as a 16-year-old following his time at St Joseph’s College and the Australian Schoolboys.
Beale currently has 156 Super Rugby caps to his name, with 142 of them in the sky blue of New South Wales – just nine games shy of Benn Robinson’s all-time record.
Named NSW Waratahs Back of the Year in 2018, Beale also sits fourth on the all-time point scoring list (473).
Beale has a Test career featuring 83 caps and a John Eales Medal (2011), and will embark on a third Rugby World Cup campaign later this year after being an integral part of the Wallaby’s 2011 and 2015 efforts.
This year, he still dress the NSW Waratahs rugby jersey to take part in the rugby match.

The NSW Waratahs have revealed their home and away playing kits for the 2020 Vodafone Super Rugby season.
In partnership with new apparel partner, XBlades the team will wear what is a predominately sky blue jersey at home, while they will run out in a white jersey with sky blue hoops on the road in 2020.
NSWRU General Manager of Rugby, Tim Rapp said he was pleased to see XBlades putting a fresh spin on the traditional colours of the NSW Waratahs.
New navy panels on their sky blue primary strip and a predominantly white alternative strip are a subtle shift away from previous years kits, in their first uniform designed by XBlades after the team parted ways with Canterbury.
Their primary kit remains predominantly sky blue but features new navy side panels and navy shoulder stripes.
“It’s been a collaborative process between ourselves and the team at XBlades to get to this point and I think both jerseys look great,” Tim Rapp said.

The jersey, which is made by Canterbury as usual, isn’t the first time the Waratahs have worn a special jersey to honour native cultures – they wore a striking ‘Pasifika’ shirt back in 2017 – but this is the first shirt honouring indigenous Australians.
The jersey was designed by a young artist recommended to the Waratahs by the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME), Dylan Barnes, and was launched by the Waratahs’ two indigenous players – Kurtley Beale and Cody Walker.
Beale went on to describe the striking pattern that adorns the jersey: “There’s fifteen of these small circles that resemble the players on the field and the lines in between, linking them all together as one to tie in with Reconciliation Week which is a big part of our history.”
“I’m very proud and honoured,” said Walker of the jersey. “The Indigenous culture is one of the oldest around, it’s hard to explain but your chest feels pretty big when you put this jersey on.”
